31 day challenge: day twenty-five - inspired by fashion

Hello everyone! :)
Today's theme is inspired by FASHION. I adore (almost) every piece of clothing that has floral design or stripes, and that's the reason I decided to use both patterns for this manicure. You've probably seen a lot of similar manicures on the internet, but this is my first time ever doing a floral design so I don't even mind posting this in the middle of winter. Enjoy!

For the striped nails I used P2 Being In Heaven, a pink creme, as a base and white acrylic for the stripes. And for the floral ones I used Gabrini Elegant 352, a blue creme, as a base and a bunch of pink and orange acrylics for the flowers :)

I think that this is one of my best manicures so far :)

christmas swirls

Hello everyone :)
I got over the fact that my nails aren't long anymore and made a cute Christmas related stamping manicure. Like I said in a previous post, here in Macedonia we celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January, but I was inspired by the hundreds of Christmas manicures I saw in the past few days :)
For this manicure I used Flormar Supershine Miracle Colors U14 as a base and stamped the wavy design from plate BM-205 using a white nail polish.

Hello everyone!
I broke a nail recently and my nails are extremely short right now, so these couple of days I'm going to show you some old swatches and designs that I haven't had time to post.

Today I'm going to show you Catherine Arley 183, a cappuccino brown with subtle orange shimmer.

glitter season starts now!

It's funny how glitter nail polishes always look so gorgeous, but they tend to look even more gorgeous when New Year's Eve is getting closer. I don't think that there's any girl that doesn't like glitter polishes.
And because glitter season has already started I decided to show you one of my glitter nail polishes Classics 54.

Classics 54 layered over black
Classics 54 has silver, green and blue square glitter and some silver rectangle which is hard to get :)

More glitters coming soon! Thanks for reading :)

31 day challenge: day twenty-four - inspired by a book

Hello everyone! Today's challenge theme is inspired by A BOOK. I chose the cover of one of my favorite books - Excavation by James Rollins. Здраво на сите!

I used a olive green as a base, sponged a bit of light grey all over the nail and some dark brown on the tips. Then, I sponged some mattifying nail polish on top.

That's it for today!

31 day challenge: day twenty-three - inspired by a movie

Hello everyone :) I've been really busy with school lately, but I managed to find some time to paint these nails. The theme is inspired by A MOVIE so I chose a movie that I recently watched - Pulp Fiction. I love every movie Quentin Tarantino has made so far. Below you can see the full design and close-ups of each nail individually. All images can be viewed larger.

First up is the thumb. I used a red background and yellow letters for the title of the movie, as it is on the official poster. Excuse my letters, but I haven't perfected them :)

For the index finger I used a neutral tone as a background. Then, I sponged over it with a brighter skin toned acrylic. I mixed some water with red acrylic paint. First I took a short brush and made the smaller drops of blood and then I picked up a longer brush and made the big pools of blood.

For the middle finger I used a bronze brownish background and wrote BMF (bad mother fu****) with black acrylic.

The procedure for the ring finger is the same as for the index.

And lastly, for the pinky I used a white base, painted a tie with black acrylic and sprayed blood with red acrylic over it.

That's it for today :) Thanks for reading!

beautiful reds

Hello everyone :)
Today I'm going to show you two beautiful red nail polishes that I own. Not a long time ago, I wrote that I'm not a big fan of reds and that I own only a few (in comparison with other colors), because they make my skin look weird. That's why I have to choose my red polishes very carefully.

One of the colors is H&M Midnight Passion. I bought this polish when I visited Prague, along with a couple of other polishes. It's a dark red cr‬è‪me, opaque in 2 coats. This polish is gorgeous, but the brush handle is very weird and you need to hold it in the most uncomfortable position possible in order to get the brush flat. I had to re-swatch it three times because I smudged my cuticles every time I tried to paint my nails.

H&M Midnight Passion - 2 coats

The second nail polish for today is Flormar Supershine Miracle Colors U14 (long name). Miracle Colors is one of the most recent lines from Flormar and it has beautiful colors. I was searching for a Christmas-y, shiny and very sparkly red and this is what I chose in the end. It's full with red and silver shimmer. A little advice: if you want shiny and sparkly colors, you should just buy anything from the Supershine line, they are absolutely gorgeous.

review: nail stickers

Hello everyone :)
Today I'm going to do a quick review of some nail stickers that I bought. I wanted to try them out for a while and I decided to finally do it. Oh, and today I'm starting to write in Macedonian as well, because plenty of my readers are from Macedonia :)

The packaging looks like this. As you can see I bought 2 packages, because there are only 5 stickers in one package (stupid, right?).

The stickers were surprisingly easy to use. You just peel off the back and front transparent foil and apply them to your nail. I didn't have any problems with the stickers, but people with smaller nails may need to cut them down. To remove the excess sticker, you need to file it down and it just pops off. Here's the result...

Even though the packaging says that they last up to 7 days I believe they're going to peel off fast, so I applied top coat. There was no wrinkling with the stickers, as this is a great problem with some other brands.

- very cheap (around 2 eur for 10 stickers)
- easy application
- don't wrinkle with top coat
- cute designs
- made from actual nail polish

- they smell a bit weird
- only 5 stickers in one packaging
- size of stickers is limited

31 day challenge: day twenty-two - inspired by a song

Hello dear readers :)
Today I'll show you my manicure that I did for the 22nd challenge which is inspired by A SONG. I knew which song I'd pick even in the beginning of the 31 day challenge.

"What else is there?" is the reason I fell in love with Röyksopp's music. In case you don't know, they're a Norwegian electronic duo and they're absolutely brilliant. I'm not a person that has only one favorite song, but "What else is there?" has been on the top of my favorite songs chart for a long, long time.

Before I show you the photos, I'm just going to say that I'm not going to list the polishes I used, because I used a bunch of blacks, blues and greys that I forgot to write down :)

First, here's the completed look - first photo is taken with flash and the second on daylight. Click to see them larger.

The next 5 photos are close-ups of each finger, top to bottom starting with the thumb and so on.

For the thumb I used a black base. Then, on top of the black I used white and grey acrylics to write RYXP which is short for Röyksopp. I sponged around the letters using a light grey polish.

I painted the index finger according to the forest scene from the video, which looks like this:

I used a greyish blue base, sponged some dark grey on top and painted a big black tree. Then, I stamped some branches with leaves using one of the Bundle Monster plates.

The inspiration for the middle finger was the apple which appears somewhere in the middle of the video.

I used a black base and painted the apple using acrylic colors. The strings look more like worms, but I this was as thin as I could paint them :D

The design on my ring finger was inspired by one of the scenes where a big house is floating in the air :)

I made a gradient using dark and light blue. Then, I painted the house using different tones of grey.

And I don't have an inspiration photo for the pinky, but it was inspired by the girl's bright blue eyes.

Phew! That was a long one. It took me a total of 40 minutes to finish one hand.

Next up is inspired by A MOVIE.

christmas ornament

Hello guys :) I'm skipping the challenge today and I'm going to show you a Christmas related stamping manicure I did a day ago.
I love decorating my Christmas tree, but here in Macedonia we do the decorating a bit later since we celebrate Christmas on January 7th, though the Christmas tree is considered to be more of a symbol for the New Year's Eve rather than Christmas.

The base I used is Gabrini Elegant 374, a peachy pink polish with shiny silver particles, and Golden Rose Nail Art 107 for the stamping.
I used to have these glass ornaments as a kid. They were very shiny, but I wasn't allowed to play with them because whenever I did, I broke one or two :) I remember having one exactly like the design I did below.

Base color: Gabrini Elegant 374
Stamping color: Golden Rose Nail Art 107
Stamping plate: BM-210

31 day challenge: day twenty-one - inspired by a color

Hello dear readers :) I've been gone for some time now and first of all I want to truly apologise for that. I've been really busy trying to keep my grades as they were. I had tons of exams and I'll have even more during the next two weeks. So, again I'll be absent for a while.
I decided to go on with the challenge even though I made a long break from it. I got to the last part which is INSPIRATION and today's manicure is inspired by A COLOR. I chose blue. I can't say that it's my favorite color. I'm not actually sure what color is my favorite, but I know that blue is the color I don't mind wearing all the time :)

So here's the blue polish by itself. It's Orkide Olivia 121, the polish that I used in day 5 of this challenge.

I didn't want to wear it by itself so I sponged a bit of white and silver. The white is supposed to represent the clouds in the sky and the silver is the pollution. For those who don't know, my city - Skopje is very polluted in the past few weeks and now it's full with people with sore throats, including me.

I couldn't resist adding some bling to this manicure, since you know the holidays are coming and December is the month I usually wear rhinestones and glitter :D So I made a snowflake out of round and oval rhinestones. I'm a huge snow lover, but for the past few years Skopje is lacking the beautiful snow I remember from my childhood.

Next up is inspired by A SONG.

random pinks

Hello dear readers :)
I decided to put the 31 day challenge on hold, because I have a bunch of old swatches that I need to post. Today I decided to show you some of the pink nail polishes I haven't posted about.
I thought that it would be better if I posted the older ones first.

Avon Cotton Candy is a light pink cr‬è‪me, that's opaque in 2 coats. One of my first polishes ever, all gone now :) It's actually one of the few nail polishes I've finished.

(click for larger)

Avon Rose Quartz is a light peachy pink with tons of pink, light green and lavender shimmer. Opaque in 2 coats.

(click for larger)

Before I continue, a quick note about these two Avon nail polishes. I'm not going to comment their formula because the ones I had were from the oval shaped bottles, the ones with the thin brush etc. I think that these colors are still available for sale, but I haven't checked in a while.

Gabrini Pacific 132 is more of a purple cr‬è‪me, rather then a pink one. It's opaque in 2 coats. I don't like the formula of the Gabrini Pacific polishes, they dry quite slow.

(click for larger)

Classics 76 is a lavender pink polish with a pearly finish. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I don't like pearly polishes, but I bought this one because of the color :) It's opaque in 2-3 coats.

(click for larger)

The next three nail polishes are my frankens :)

Mermaid is a deep pink nail polish with blue glitter and some red-ish shimmer. Opaque in 1-2 coats.

(click for larger)

Pink & Gold is a very pale pink polish with tons of golden shimmer. Opaque in 2 coats.

(click for larger)

And the last swatch for today is Cotton Candy (yes, just like Avon's one). It's a pink matte, opaque in only one coat :)
