random pinks

Hello dear readers :)
I decided to put the 31 day challenge on hold, because I have a bunch of old swatches that I need to post. Today I decided to show you some of the pink nail polishes I haven't posted about.
I thought that it would be better if I posted the older ones first.

Avon Cotton Candy is a light pink cr‬è‪me, that's opaque in 2 coats. One of my first polishes ever, all gone now :) It's actually one of the few nail polishes I've finished.

(click for larger)

Avon Rose Quartz is a light peachy pink with tons of pink, light green and lavender shimmer. Opaque in 2 coats.

(click for larger)

Before I continue, a quick note about these two Avon nail polishes. I'm not going to comment their formula because the ones I had were from the oval shaped bottles, the ones with the thin brush etc. I think that these colors are still available for sale, but I haven't checked in a while.

Gabrini Pacific 132 is more of a purple cr‬è‪me, rather then a pink one. It's opaque in 2 coats. I don't like the formula of the Gabrini Pacific polishes, they dry quite slow.

(click for larger)

Classics 76 is a lavender pink polish with a pearly finish. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I don't like pearly polishes, but I bought this one because of the color :) It's opaque in 2-3 coats.

(click for larger)

The next three nail polishes are my frankens :)

Mermaid is a deep pink nail polish with blue glitter and some red-ish shimmer. Opaque in 1-2 coats.

(click for larger)

Pink & Gold is a very pale pink polish with tons of golden shimmer. Opaque in 2 coats.

(click for larger)

And the last swatch for today is Cotton Candy (yes, just like Avon's one). It's a pink matte, opaque in only one coat :)

31 day challenge: day twenty - water marbled

FOUR DAYS! It took me four days to get a water marble right. I hate cold weather in situations like these. I kept trying and trying, using different polishes, but I couldn't get it right. I tried with fake nails as well. It made me hate this challenge!
I'm not saying that the outcome of the last water marble I did is perfect, it's not even good, but I just couldn't bother anymore. I just couldn't.
The colors I used are Golden Rose with Protein 280 (gold) and P2 Being In Heaven (pink). It's more than obvious that I made it on fake nails.

Next up is the INSPIRED BY part, and the (twenty) first challenge is A COLOR.

31 day challenge: day nineteen - galaxies

Hello :) Today's challenge is GALAXIES. I decided to paint our solar system, though the colors of the planets might not be quite correct since I was using a digitally painted picture of the solar system as a reference. My background looks a bit greenish because of the flash :)

Sorry about the short post. I haven't been feeling so good for the past few days, I guess I'm catching a cold or something. I don't know if I'll be able to write tomorrow's post, but I'll try.

31 day challenge: day eighteen - half moons

Hello dear readers :) Before I write about today's challenge I just want to thank everyone who has given me their support by following. Today I reached 30 followers. It may not be a lot, but to me it is. So, thank you guys! :)

Today's challenge is HALF MOONS. I'm not a big fan of half moons, I mean not the semi-circle shape. I do like to make triangles instead of moons, but I'm not sure if that counts as half moons. Since I didn't have any french manicure tapes (or anything that's circle shaped and sticky) and freehanding semi-circles isn't my thing, I had to improvise. Somehow I managed to cut out a small half-circle from duct tape and did the manicure with it. Even though I put quite a lot of effort in it, it didn't really turned out as expected.
I used Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer 119, a nude cr‬è‪me, for the half moon and Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer 73, a dark brown cr‬è‪me, for the rest of the nail. I drew a line between the two colors using Golden Rose Nail Art 108, in order to hide the imperfections :)

Next up is GALAXIES. I've already written two posts about nebula manicures, since they're my favorites to do. I'm very excited about tomorrow!

31 day challenge: day seventeen - glitter

Hello :) Today's post is just a quick one (aren't they all) to show you today's challenge which is GLITTER.
I chose Flormar 393 which is a mix of fine silver, blue, green and red square glitter. I actually have plenty of unswatched glitters so I had a variety to choose from, but I chose this one because it really reminds me of the upcoming winter holidays and Chirstmas trees and all the shiny decorations that come with them :)
I swatched it over Gabrini Elegant 385, a frosty blue polish.

And here's a flash photo, just to see how the frostiness of the base compliments the beautiful glitter.

Next up is HALF MOONS.

31 day challenge: day sixteen - tribal print

Hello lovely readers :) I hope that you are enjoying this wonderful Sunday as much as I am. Today's challenge is TRIBAL PRINT. And because I'm the laziest person alive on Sundays I decided to stamp instead of doing some freehand nail art like I wanted to :)
Before I show you the manicure I'm going to show you the base nail polish that I used. Golden Rose w/ Protein 280 is a shimmery almost foil-ish gold nail polish. It's not the most opaque polish in the world, but it does good with only 2 coats, though it'd look better with three, but I couldn't wait for it to dry :)

Since the theme is tribal, I chose this image from the BM-222 plate. Funny thing, I've had the plates for a few months now and I haven't even noticed that some of them had tribal prints. I stamped with my favorite black stamping polish - Golden Rose Matte 12.

31 day challenge: day fifteen - delicate print

Hello everyone! Today I'll continue with my challenge and show you the DELICATE PRINT I made. I must say that this manicure is a fail and I can't wait to take it off tomorrow, consider yourselves warned :)
First, I'm going to show you a swatch of one of my all time favorite pinks - Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer 32, a soft and kind of muted light pink creme. It's opaque in 2 coats and it's perfect for delicate and cute manicures.

And here's my failed manicure, that I don't want to talk about. I didn't have time to do my nails once again today.

Stamping color: Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer 04
Stamping plate: BM-209
Next up is TRIBAL PRINT.

special post: 8-in-1 eyeshadow palettes from avon

Hey guys! I've been thinking about writing a post about something other than nail art and polishes, you know, for change :) So, my first special post will be about my three 8-in-1 eyeshadow palettes by Avon.

Water Colors is mostly consisted of pastel shades and only one color stands out, it's way darker than the others. Currently, I don't own a primer, so they all look a bit pale, but I don't think that a primer will help with that because the colors themselves are quite bright. What I like about this palette is that most of the shades are made in combinations. This is my least favorite palette out of all three.

Water Colors palette (click for larger)
Color drops from the Water Colors palette (click for larger)
Neutral Tones is consisted of varying neutral tones (who would have thought?). When I first saw this palette the shades looked very similar to each other, but when applied the difference is noticeable. Most of the shades are shimmery. This is my second favorite of them all.

Smokey Eyes is the third palette I'm going to show you today. It's my favorite of all three. It's mostly consisted of darker variety of shades. The shades are very opaque, even when you apply a thin layer of eyeshadow. Again, most of them are shimmery.

31 day challenge: day fourteen - flowers

Hello everyone! Two weeks has passed since I started the challenge and like I said before it's been very fun so far. Today's challenge is FLOWERS.
Even before I actually started the challenge I made a plan for some manicures. I decided that I'm going to stamp the flowers, but the real question was which colors to use. I didn't want to make them all nice and delicate, because that's how most people would do it. So now I was looking for the perfect combination of colors that would be wearable, cute and not so delicate at the same time. As a base color I used Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer 134, a light grey creme, and for the stamping I used Golden Rose Nail Art 107, a shimmery silver polish. I stamped one of the flower images from the BM-224 plate. I'm very pleased with the result :) Here's how it turned out:

(click for larger)
And because the stamping polish has tons of shimmer in it, it's almost impossible to photograph it using flash without getting a weird reflection. Here's one photo where I managed to capture the design.

31 day challenge: day thirteen - animal print

Hello! This is going to be another quick post with only one photo. Today's challenge is ANIMAL PRINT. As a base I used P2 Being In Heaven, a pink cr‬è‪me. On top of that I stamped a leopard design from the BM-221 plate using the Golden Rose Matte 12 nail polish.

Base color: P2 Being In Heaven
Stamping color: Golden Rose Matte 12
Stamping plate: BM-221
Okay, so if you read the previous post you'd know that I was planning on recording some video tutorials. That's exactly what I did when I made this manicure. The first video tutorial is going to be a short one about stamping. I'm also starting a channel on YouTube where you'll be able to find all of my tutorials. I couldn't upload it today, because it's not edited yet, but I think that you'll be able to see it by Friday.

Next up is FLOWERS.

Thanks for reading and have a good day/night :)

31 day challenge: day twelve - stripes

Hello everyone :) Today is day 12 of the 31 day challenge and the challenge for today is STRIPES. I decided to make today's manicure with a plaid design, specifically the Burberry's famous plaid pattern. I'm not sure whether I like the outcome, but I didn't have time for another manicure, since I have a lot for studying this days. In case you're not familiar with Burberry's plaid pattern, here's how it looks:

I didn't have a polish that's the same color as the base of the pattern, so I just used a darker, more neutral one. The base I used was Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer 119. I used black, white and red acrylic paints to make the stripes.

(click for larger)
I made the stripes in a hurry, that's why they are a bit curved on some nails :)

Next up is ANIMAL PRINT.

31 day challenge: day eleven - polka dots

I'm back from my short break from blogging with day 11 from the 31 day challenge. Today's challenge is POLKA DOTS.
Polka dots have always been one of my favorite designs because they are very easy to paint and they look cute in almost any combination. For today's challenge I used Avon Peppermint Leaf, a mint green polish, as a base and made the dots with white acrylic paint.

Flash (click for larger)
Daylight (click for larger)
Also daylight, but I added a bit of vintage effect on this one :)
(click for larger)
This is kind of unrelated to the post. I want to start making video tutorials, starting with more simple designs like polka dots, stamping, stripes etc. If you got any ideas about which designs I should do, don't hesitate to write a comment :)

Next up is STRIPES.

31 day challenge: day ten - gradient

Phew! It's the end of part one from the 31 day challenge. Today's challenge is GRADIENnails. I chose one of my favorite pinks - Catherine Arley 917 and mixed it with some white. I decided to make it an ombre manicure, though the difference between the shades isn't very visible, especially not in real life. This is my first ever try at ombre and I'm actually very pleased with the results :)
I made the different shades by adding more and more white nail polish to only one drop of the pink I started with. Here's how that turned out:

(click for larger)
Okay, the next part of this challenge starts with day 11 which is going to be POLKA DOTS. I'm going to use stamping most of the time, since that part is called patterns. Also, I'm probably going to take a one day break from the challenge, because I've got a lot for studying tomorrow, but I'll try to post something like a swatch or an old manicure.

31 day challenge: day nine - rainbow

Finally it's time for the RAINBOnails. It took me a while to paint them, but it was so fun! I didn't use any specific nail polishes, except for the white base which isn't even visible. I used a white base because I painted the rainbow stripes using acrylic colors, which tend to be a bit sheer especially when mixed with water. I used a very small brush rather than a striping brush, because I can't "control" the striping brush :D
I noticed that they affect my mood, in a positive way. Every time I look at my nails I just feel like smiling :D I hate the fact that I have to erase them for tomorrow's challenge.

31 day challenge: day eight - metallic

Hello everyone! Today I'm very, very lazy, so I'm going to use an older swatch of the polish I wanted to post today. The challenge for today is METALLIC nails. I could have skipped a day, but I really wanted to do the next challenge tomorrow :)
Gabrini Pacific 17 is a silver metallic polish. It's not a particularly unique polish, I actually have other polishes that are very similar to this one, but not quite the same. I chose this polish because it was the only unswatched metallic left and I didn't want to repost other polishes.

So, this was a super quick post :) Next up is RAINBOnails.

31 day challenge: day seven - black and white

It's true what they say: time flies by when you're having fun!
It's already day 7 which means that a week has passed since I started this challenge and so far it's not hard at all. I hope it stays that way, though :)
Today's challenge is BLACK & WHITE nails. I decided to do a stamping manicure because I haven't done one of those in a while :) For my base color I used Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer 04 and as a stamping polish I used Golden Rose Matte 12. I sealed it all with a coat of Essence Quick Dry Top Coat. I used Bundle Monster's plate BM-221. The design is zebra-like, but I wasn't going for zebra. It kind of looked like some lines created by a magnetic field :D

Here's how that turned out:
