seventeen supreme 23 & 31

Good evening my lovely readers!
This will be yet another swatch post, but today I'm going to show you a brand that I haven't shown before. It's called Seventeen. I must admit that I know little about Seventeen, so I won't be bothering you with details considering the company.

I decided to start with Seventeen Supreme 23. It's a gorgeous pastel peach cr‬è‪me, the kind that I was looking for a long time. The color itself is beautiful, but there's something that bothered me a lot. The brush is wide and you can coat your nail in only two strokes (maybe one if you have narrower nails), but it's made of very rough bristles that pick up some of the polish of the previous coat whenever you're trying to add another one. This may not be noticeable on the photos, but it's a real pain in the ass if you're not being careful. The polish is very opaque. You'd probably need only one coat, but I used two as I do for all my swatches.

The second polish that I'm going to show you today is Seventeen Supreme 31. It's a very pale pastel green cr‬è‪me. I'd say it's kind of a pistachio green with a hint of yellow. Has the same problem as the 23 considering the application, otherwise it's perfect. Again, opaque in only one coat, two if you prefer thinner coats.

So, which one do you like better? :)
Thanks for reading & have a good night.

essence colour3 ticket to the show

Hello everyone!
A couple of weeks ago I showed you Essence Colour3 Midnight Date one of the Essence Colour3 duos I got. It was about time I showed you the second duo called Essence Colour3 Ticket To The Show. As you may or may not know, the bottles have two small polishes (4ml each), but they're called Colour3 because you can layer one polish over the other and create a third look as well.

First up, of course, is Ticket To The Show. The minute I saw this polish I knew I had to have the duo in my hands. And so it was :) It's consisted of a jelly-like black base full of rainbow colored shimmer. The shimmer is so smooth, it's almost unnoticeable at first sight, but you can easily see it on daylight. I think that Essence did a good job when they made this polish, because they balanced the black and shimmer really good.

Next is the second part of the duo called Front Row or Backstage?. It's consisted of a greyish brown jelly base full of golden shimmer. Unlike it's "brother", this polish isn't subtle at all. It's very, very sparkly. This part of the duo failed to impress me, just like one par of Essence Colour3 Midnight Date did.

And of course, the fun part of these polishes - the layering. I layered Front Row or Backstage? over Ticket To The Show and got a surprisingly lovely combination. Here's how that turned out :)

That's it for today! Thanks for reading & I'll see you soon.

golden rose matte velvet 105

Hey guys!
I finally managed to find some time do to write a couple of blog posts. I've got a bunch of swatches coming up for you. I know that they aren't the best part about blogging, but I've already done the swatches so I might as well write about the polishes. I'll be sure to make up with even more design-related posts.

Today I'm going to show you Golden Rose Matte Velvet 105. Golden Rose introduced their matte line only a few months ago and now they've expanded it by adding a couple of other shades which have an additional name - velvet. These are mostly some shimmery shades, which makes them more suede rather than mattes.

Golden Rose Matte Velvet 105 is a beautiful shimmery blue suede. Opaque in 1-2 coats, depending on the thickness. I expected this polish to be more of a green shade, but the result was a really nice surprise. I guess that the downside of these polishes is the packaging. The glass is kind of mattified which totally changes the color, you simply can't see the true color unless you open the bottle.

Below you can see photos of the polish with a glossy top coat. It looks even prettier with top coat. It gives it more dimension, I think.

One last photo, taken with flash, to show you the beauty of this polish :)

Thanks for reading & see you again soon!

nautical nails - getting ready for the summer

Hello everyone!
We've been having some really hot weather recently, even though summer hasn't started yet.
So, what I have for you today is a nautical manicure. I had so much fun doing this :)

I used a white base for all of the nails. Using a navy blue acrylic paint I painted horizontal stripes on my index and pinky finger, and using a red paint I did the lines on the middle finger. Then, on my thumb I stamped a nautical star from the BM-206 plate with a navy blue polish and made a small helm with golden micro beads. On my ring finger I stamped an anchor from the BM08 plate using the same navy blue polish and made a chain with the golden micro beads.

I know I wrote a bunch of stuff, but it's actually quite simple. The only thing that took up most of the time were the micro beads, they require patience.

I wanted to start posting manicures only for a while, but I don't have many ideas right now. If you'd like to see anything, feel free to comment.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

h&m lady luck

Hello everyone!
How are you all doing today? :)
What I have for you today is a lovely (new) shade from H&M called Lady Luck. I purchased this polish on my recent visit to Thessaloniki, Greece. I hate the fact that we don't have H&M in Skopje and I keep missing out some lovely polishes, but it is what it is...

H&M Lady Luck is a metallic green nail polish with a subtle duochrome effect. The duochrome effect is more visible in the bottle, rather on the nail, but it still is there. It's opaque in 1-2 coats. The formula is lovely, just about like any other polish from H&M, but the fact that it's a metallic makes it even better.

This polish has many "faces", so I'll try to show you it's true side using the following four photos taken under different light.

Under daylight, this polish looks like something in between green and turquoise and as I previously mentioned it doesn't show the duochrome effects that much.

Under artificial light it looks more of a blue polish, rather than a green.

And a photo using flash.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day :)

nail polish tag

Hello everyone!
A couple of days ago Sue from Creative Nail Design by Sue tagged me and asked me to answer a couple of nail polish related questions. Of course, I couldn't resist doing it :)

1. What's your favorite nail polish company?
Well, this is a hard question for me, as there are plenty of different brands that I buy. Out of all, Essence never seems to let me down and has a great variety of colors.

2. Glitter or no glitter?
Glitter! I love glitter, but I rarely wear it. I hate to remove it from my nails.

3. OPI, China Glaze or Essie?
Out of them all, China Glaze and OPI are the ones that recently became available in Macedonia. I know that I could buy them from the internet, but they are just too expensive for my allowance. Especially OPI. I know that China Glaze have a decent price here in Macedonia. They're even cheaper than other countries I've been to. The problem is they're only sold in a town that's 120 km from my town.
I am planing on buying some China Glaze polishes soon, though :)

4. When do you change your nail polish?
Whenever possible. If I like what I wear, I can wear it for weeks (if it doesn't chip, of course).

5. What's your favorite color on your nails?
Blue, green, turquoise.

6. Darks or brights?
This totally depends on my mood. I must admit that I sometimes pick out polishes at random, as I am quite indecisive about what should I wear.

7. What are you wearing on your nails right this moment?
The rainbow manicure from my spring challenge.

8. Matte nails, in or out?
I love the matte finish, but I don't think that it goes with everything. There are people that use matte top coat on literally everything. Sometimes, you just need to let it be shiny :)

9. French manicure?
Not a big fan. I don't like wearing french manicure, especially if my nails are longer, because people are constantly asking me if I had my nails done at a salon. I love funky french combinations, though.

10. Favorite summer colors?
Anything bright and bold. Mostly coral, blue and turquoise.

As the rules go, I have to tag another polish lover :)
I tag one of my favorite bloggers, Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails.

Have a nice day everyone!

spring challenge #5 - rainbow

Hello everyone!
This is the fifth and last manicure for the spring challenge that I've been doing for a couple of weeks.
It's been really fun doing these manicures. I loved the fact that there were many other bloggers that did a great job doing the challenges as well :)
The last theme is rainbow. Instead of making rainbows on each nail I decided to paint my nails as a pastel rainbow. I know that I've been using the same colors for the challenges (more or less), but pastels are the perfect choice for me when it comes to spring.
Without further ado, here's the manicure.

Say hello to my right hand :D
I don't normally post my right hand, but there are these moments when I totally mess up my non-dominant hand and it looks hideous. I had no acetone left to repair the damage, so I had to try and photograph my dominant hand (which wasn't easy at all). As you can see I used pastel blue, green, yellow, pink and orange and stamped polka dots on top just to make it even cuter :)

As always, you should go and check out what the other participants did:
I'd like to congratulate all of my co-challengers that managed to go through this fun challenge with me :)
Can't wait to find another challenge, so I can keep myself busy!
Stay tuned for some lovely swatches :)
Have a good night!
