Hey everyone!
I'm really glad that I had the time to write this post. The semester is finally over and I couldn't be happier about it. I wanted to say how thankful I am that all of you lovely followers stayed while I had my blogging crisis. I was trying to blog, but between all of my projects and sleeping for only 4-5 hours a day I still wasn't able to find the time to take care of my nails and post as often.
2013 wasn't a great year for me in any aspect of my life, especially not the blogging. I will try to change that in the future, but I really can't promise anything. This blog is something that I worked really hard for and I don't want to shut it down just because I have no time to blog.

Anyway, I'm wishing you all a Happy New Year and be sure to come back soon because I'll be posting my 2013 favorites!

Have fun and be safe! :)

opi you're such a budapest with chevrons

Hey everyone!
Last month was my birthday and I decided to get some polishes. I didn't want them to be regular polishes from Macedonia, so I got half OPI Euro Centrale collection from Spring 2013. I'm absolutely in love with these polishes and I'm swatching them one by one because I want to wear all of them :)
In the meantime, I also got Bundle Monster's CYO 2013 stamping plates, so you should expect plenty of stamping manicures in the future.

I used OPI You're Such a Budapest as a base (you can see the color swatch below). On my index and pinky I added a coat of Golden Rose Carnival 01, a beautiful matte white glitter, while the middle and ring finger were stamped using BM-423 and a matte white polish called BK 16. I left the thumb "blank" and topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite.

You're Such a Budapest is a dusty lavender polish with very subtle white shimmer. The shimmer is barely visible in the bottle and I couldn't capture it on camera, but it definitely is there. It was opaque in 2 coats and dried really fast. I'm not even going to mention the formula and brush because I've already said that I love OPI's polishes.

A quick apology for two things:
1. The state of my cuticles is absolutely horrible. I've neglected my nails recently, because I've got tons of projects for school and it's driving me nuts.
2. I'm not sure, but the photos might look a bit different. I switched my monitor a couple of weeks ago and I'm trying to get the settings right, so it might affect the editing a bit :)

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

aura she bunny 124

Hey everyone!
I've got a quick post for you today. Not so long ago I got this amazing polish and last time I posted I showed you a manicure in which I used it as a base.

Aura She Bunny 124 is a dark green polish, with a slight hint of teal with green/blue duochromatic specks in it. I find it perfect to wear it on its own or maybe create a galaxy look with it (which I will try soon enough). It was opaque in 2 coats. The formula is really nice, but there was one thing that bothered me a bit. The bottle itself is very small, therefore the brush is pretty small as well. On the photo here I had longer nails and the application process was a bit harder since the brush couldn't cover most of my nail. Nonetheless, I think that this polish will make it in my favorites of the year :)

Sadly my nails are no longer long and gorgeous :(

review: water decals from kkcenterhk

Hey everyone!
Midterms are finally over and I can get to blogging again!
What I have for you today is a short review about water decals I got from KKCenterHK a couple of days ago.

Just like any other KKCenterHK product, they came in a small zip lock bag. The sheet of decals has 6 different stripes with patterns. You can cut the stripes however you want. For this look I decided to follow the hexagonal shape of the pattern and created different shapes. What I didn’t read in the description on the website is that the white parts are visible, but it looked pretty good anyway.

They are very easy to use. Just cut the desired shape and either submerge it in a small cup of water or place it on a wet towel. The design will come off very easily within a couple of seconds. The positive side about these decals is that you have a few seconds to position the decal without it sticking too much. But, you have to be careful with these kinds of decals as they can be a bit thinner than usual. Since they are that thin, they are barely visible on the nail and you don't even need top coat to cover their edges.

Here are all of the designs that you get from this sheet. They are very cool and I can't wait to use them again.

You can get these water decals here for $5.75. My overall opinion is that they are very easy to use, you get plenty of designs to choose from and they don't look cheap on the nail. I didn't have any problems with them and I'd recommend that you try them out.

You can get 10% off your order over at KKCenterHK using the code: "iloveprettycolours".

The product was sent to me for review. However, my opinion is 100% honest and is not affected by this.

purple galore

Hey everyone!
After almost a month of not posting anything, I'm back and I have tons of nail polishes to show you. For today, I chose four purple nail polishes that I bought in one day. All of them are purple, yet none of them are the same :)

I'll start with Rimmel London Pompous, a gorgeous royal purple with plenty of shimmer in it. I'm not going to talk about Rimmel London's quality, since I've already done that on many occasions. But, there was one thing that surprised me a lot. In my experience I haven't come across with a polish that shares the same appearance with Pompous and that has a shear consistency. It's almost as if they want you to layer it on top of another polish. You need at least 3 coats to get to the opacity that's shown below.

The next polish is another one by Rimmel London and it's called Rock Republic, a light, dusty purple chrome with a silver undertone. A quick note is that I wouldn't normally wear a polish like Rock Republic by itself and I got it mainly for stamping. Pictured below is only 1 coat of polish, which proves my point about the stamping. It appears somewhat plain on daylight, but under bright light there was some shimmer that I could notice (see the color drop).

Golden Rose Holiday 69 is a textured polish that has a color that's in between pink and purple. I can't say that it's 100% purple nor pink, but I think that it has more of a purple tone to it. You probably know by now that I fell in love with the textured polishes trend and I already have plenty of Golden Rose's textured polishes, but they expanded their collection with a couple of spring/summer shades. This shade in particular has a somewhat pearly appearance. 2 coats for the photo.

And the last purple polish for today is Golden Rose Carnival 11. It's a very complex glittery polish. The base is clear, so you can layer it on different polishes. I decided to layer it over a peachy nude base. It's consisted of purple glitter that's mainly hexagonal in different sizes that has a darker and lighter shade of purple. It has very small and thin string glitter that's barely noticeable. The most interesting component is the largest hexagons which are semi-transparent and have a pearly finish. Personally, I haven't seen such glitter before and I must say that they look incredible.

Which polish did you like best?

my nail polish collection (picture heavy)

Hey everyone!
I decided that it was time to make a post about my nail polish collection. I've already written a few posts, but that was more than a year ago and my collection has grown a lot since then. In addition, the weather today is lovely and sunny, so I got inspired to finally photograph all of my polishes. There are a lot of photos, so if you have a slower internet connection it might take a while for them to load.
This post will be updated every couple of months, as I'm always buying new polishes.

So, that's my collection. I threw away most of the franken polishes I have mixed and gave away plenty of them to my friends. They were taking up a lot of space and I haven't been using them a lot.

Do you like these types of posts? I was thinking about doing a make up collection post :)
