this spring i'll be wearing...

Hey everyone!
On today's post I'll talk about a few of the recent spring shades that I got. Actually, I got two of them during the winter and I was waiting patiently for the weather to become warmer :)

I'll begin with Aura All Comes Down to Today. I don't know what has gotten into me, but I really started liking pale, nude shades and I've been wearing them like crazy. As you already know, most of the shades kind of look alike unless you really, really start analyzing the colors. This one is a milky white with a pink undertone. It dries pretty fast, if you apply thinner coats. On the photo I have applied two coats on each nail. It obviously isn't opaque, but I guess that's kind of the point with these kinds of polishes. Another thing worth mentioning is that it's not too streaky, but you may experience some streaks if you drag the brush too much.

The next polish that I'll show you is Classics Glamour 210. A beautiful pale, pastel orange. It's opaque in two coats, but I'd recommend using three thinner ones, rather than two thicker because the formula is tricky. What I love about this polish is that it has a cool undertone, as opposed to the many orange shades that have a warmer undertone.

The last polish for today is Essence Ballerina's Charm. I'm a sucker for any shade of purple and when I saw this shade I had to buy it. It's a lavender shade with silver speckles. I love the fact that Essence's polishes always differ from the others because of the type of shimmer in it. Most of the polishes have tiny dots of shimmer, much like fine glitter, while Essence has tiny specks of shimmer that look like glass shards.

party on my nails

Hey everyone!
I can't believe that I haven't posted for 20 days. I feel pretty bad, but it is what it is. My midterms went pretty good and the results are awesome, so it wasn't all for nothing :)
The midterms actually lasted only a week, but I neglected my nails and they started to break a lot, so I cut them completely. Now they're pretty short, but I managed to get them in their previous shape, more or less.

I had some time on my hands today, so I decided to make these glittery border nails. I'm absolutely in love with the border nails trend and for some reason I haven't done a single manicure using that technique.

I painted all of my nails black and made the border with small silver hexagons, which are also holographic. Unfortunately, I failed to capture the real beauty of it, because the top coat I used gave the entire manicure a grey-ish tint and made it sort of dull. Well, that's another top coat going in the trash...

I love it when you use a glitter polish and it spreads randomly. But what I love even more is when you put it one by one, very carefully, so you get a nice order in the end.
I feel like experimenting lately, so you can expect more manicures like this one.

p.s. I changed the background of the blog. I made the pattern myself and I really wanted a turquoise background, so there it is :D

essence miss universe

Hey everyone!
As some of you may know, Essence changed their assortment a couple of weeks ago. Just like last year, plenty of the great products went away, but there are tons of new products to love.
One of them is the polish that I'm going to show you today.

Essence Miss Universe is a deep blue shimmery polish that even shows a bit of a duochrome effect that I couldn't capture on the photos. To my surprise, it wasn't too opaque, for some nails I even needed three coats for full coverage, but I guess two coats will do just fine. It has blue and green shimmer particles, though the blue ones are more noticeable.

If you're following my blog for a while, you'll know that these are my kind of polishes, so I can't say anything bad about it. I love it :)

I can't wait to get more from the new polishes!
