ready for fall

Hey everyone!
Today I'm going to show you my current NOTW which is kind of fall-y, a bit of tribal-y, you know - the usual.

I began by applying a purple base and using a cosmetic sponge I made a black to purple gradient. I waited a couple of minutes before the gradient dried and added top coat. I stamped a triangular, tribal pattern using BornPrettyStore's stamping plate BP-77 in silver. Since I wanted the gradient to show up better, I added a coat of Golden Rose Matte Top Coat.

Used products:
• Golden Rose Color Expert 60 (black)
• Golden Rose Rich Color 27 (purple)
• Flormar 112 (silver)
• Golden Rose Matte Top Coat
• BP-77 (stamping plate)

glitter galore

Hey everyone!
Today I have the last product from BornPrettyStore that I'm going to show you for now. The nail vinyl craze is happening for a while now and I wanted in on it. What I love about nail vinyl manicures is that you can easily create gradient and glitter patterns which don't turn out nice looking with stamps. I decided to try doing a glitter pattern because I never say no to glitter.

First off, I applied a fast drying polish in a deep purple shade and I waited at least 15-20 minutes for it to dry and afterwards I applied a fast drying top coat. These steps are crucial if you don't want your base color to get picked up by the stickiness of the vinyl. Since my nails aren't as long as the vinlys, I cut them in half (except for the thumb) and I stuck them to the back of my hand. The natural oils from your hands will remove some of the stickiness which combined with the waiting and fast drying top coat will definitely not ruin your base.

The next step was of course the glitter. I actually used a textured polish which I appilied to a sponge and began sponging on top of the vinyl. I did so in order to stop excess buildup and bumpy manicure. I added another layer of glitter, this time using a golden holographic polish. The end result was a really gorgeous and sparkly manicure.

Used products:
• Rimmel London Deliciously Dark
• Golden Rose Holiday 58
• Miss Selene 171

Overall, I'm quite impressed by these nail vinyls and how they did their job. However, I must mention that I was disappointed by the fact that you only get 6 of each design, or 12 vinyls total. That means that if you want all ten nails to look the same, you will definitely have to cut them or even reuse some. The problem comes if you actually use glitter, because it might transfer on places you don't want it to.
Nonetheless, I still did enjoy using them and I'm going to get my hands on different designs in the future.

black negative space

Hey everyone!
I am continuing the series of manicures that I created using a few BornPrettyStore products and today I will show you one of my all time favorite manicures that I've created. I wanted to do a negative space such as this one in a long time, but the problem was I didn't have the proper wider striping tape and that's where BPS came in :)

What I love most about it is that it was really easy to do. First of, I applied the tape in the pattern that I wanted. I used two different types of striping tape - wider and thinner. I applied my black nail polish and a thick, glossy top coat. And that is literally it.

To me, this wider striping tape is much more versatile as compared to the thinner ones. They are a pain in the butt and I hate using them. There I said it... I loved this striping tape because it doesn't create air bubbles, you can cut it easily and it doesn't curl which is a common problems with some striping tapes. I see myself using it a lot.
I wouldn't recommend it as an overlay striping tape (such as the colorful thin ones), I think that it is more of a tool for creating stripes, rather than a decoration.

I also wanted to incorporate the nail foil that I got from BPS as well, but I must admit that I ended up ruining this mani :( It just doesn't work with this design.

The foil itself is really nice quality. Of course, you need foil glue in order to apply it, but the application is amazing, it doesn't stick and doesn't pull the glue apart. The foil didn't shrink or wrinkle when I added the top coat over it and, most important of all, it kept its holographic and metallic look.

yet another tribal

Hey everyone!
I keep making tribal and geometric nails (even though I haven't posted about some) and I just can't help myself. After I got these water decals from BornPrettyStore I got this idea to make a really colorful and striking design.

First off, I began by applying a teal base to all of my nails. Next, I applied the colorful striped water decals on my thumb, index and pinky nail and stamped a geometric design using stamping plate BP-77.

Used products:
• Golden Rose Rich Color 44
Tribal Water Decals
•  BP-77

The sheet of decals features plenty of colorful tribal elements which you can use by themselves or make a fun combination. They are available in a few different shades, but I got the orange based ones. They are very easy to apply, just like many of the other water decals that I've tried from BPS. I love the fact that they show up on the blue base and their color stays vibrant no matter what base you use. They are nice and thin and won't stick out when you apply top coat and are also really easy to remove using nail polish remover.

cozy

Hey everyone!
BornPrettyStore was kind enough to send me a couple of product for review again. One of those products was this big water decal with a sweater pattern. I absolutely love anything that reminds me of cozy winter nights :)

In order to create this manicure I applied a shimmery grey-ish blue on my index, middle and pinky nail and white on the rest. I used a white base for the decal because it is semi-transparent and the white parts that you can see is the backing of the decal and won't be white unless you use a white base. I must admit that I had a hard time applying the decal because it kept wrinkling while I dampened it with water, but in the end I managed to create this mani.

Used products:
• Seventeen Supreme 149
• Golden Rose Color Expert 02

This is what the decal looks like. It's not too big of a sheet and I think that you'll get one to two manicures out of it depending on the number of nails you want to cover with the decal. You have to cut it down to the size of your nail, of course, and you can easily remove the excess using nail polish remover and a brush or a cotton swab. I did have some problems the first time I tried to create this manicure and the trick is not to dip the large piece of the decal in the water as the packaging suggests, but actually use a pad dipped in water and press it down on the nail. Since the decal is semi-transparent, it will transfer exactly the same on the opposite side, so you don't have to worry about the image looking bad.

empties #17

Hey everyone!
I'm still going strong with my "challenge" to start finishing certain products before buying new ones and I've got to say it has a positive effect on my savings :) Today I'll talk about another five products that I've finished during the past months.

Gliss Hair Repair with Liquid Keratin Complex by Schwarzkopf

I was very pleasantly surprised by this product. First of all, it made my hair silky smooth and beautiful without making it greasy or heavy in a couple of days. It got me through the winter and it got me through the summer, this one packaging lasted around 6 months, maybe even more. I used a pea sized amount for my long and thick hair and it was more than enough. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it and I will definitely buy it once I finish all of the conditioners I own :)

Cool Maracuja Shower Gel by BU

I don't really have much to say about this one. It has a nice, refreshing scent, which I loved, but the shower gel itself didn't impress me much. Average quality, probably wouldn't buy again.

Gliss Ultimate Color Shampoo by Schwarzkopf

I was absolutely sure I had tried this product before, but it turns out I've mixed it up with L'Oreal's similar packaging. I have been coloring my hair for the past 3-ish years, but not regularly. Overall I didn't really like what this shampoo did to my colored hair as it kind of made it messy and in desperate need of a conditioner. Since I still haven't finished the conditioner from this line, I will say that I do like that one, just not the shampoo. It does have a really nice smell, though.

NutraEffects Gel Cream by Avon

I've been trying new face creams lately and I gotta hand it to Avon - this one is an absolute hit for me. First off, the gel cream doesn't contain oil, it's mattifying and very refreshing. It moisturizes my skin, yet it doesn't become greasy during the day. I even like mixing it with my foundation when I don't want or need heavy coverage. I already bought my second pot. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with mixed skin.

Lily and Gardenia Body Spray by Avon

As much as I love Avon's scented body sprays, this one was just too floral. I don't know how to explain it, but whenever I used it I felt like I've rolled in a garden afterwards. I ended up using it as a air freshener :)
