garnet nails (steven universe)

Hey everyone!
Today's post is dedicated to one of my all time favorite animated shows - Steven Universe. I just freaking love it! If you're into animated shows, you should start watching this show ASAP! My favorite character is the crystal gem called Garnet, so I based my manicure around her.

Used products:
• Avon Red Wine (true red)
• Kleancolor Coffee (brick red)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 02 (white)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 60 (black)
• OPI Suzi's Hungary Again (medium pink)
• P2 Being In Heaven (lightest pink)
• Seventeen Supreme 50 (darkest red)

This is what the character looks like on the show. I think I did her justice pretty well :)

I got this pot of mixed size, shape and color nail art decorations from BornPrettyStore and just as I noticed the large red ones, I got the inspiration for this manicure. I will talk about this product in general, but some facts may vary since it is a pot of mixed decorations after all. In general, you get at least two of the same gems which makes it perfect if you want to have symmetrical manicures. Their size varies, the smallest are around 2-3mm in the shape of a regular rhinestone, while the largest are up to 6-7mm in different shapes. You also get a pretty nice variety of color, which is always a good thing :) Since the rhinestones can be larger, I would definitely recommend using nail glue to stick them on the nail, if you want them to last longer. Other than that, I'm really satisfied with this product. Lastly, as always don't put top coat over the gem itself, because it will lose its shine. I love the fact that you get plenty of decorations for just $0.99.

A few close-ups of the gem itself. It lies flat on the nail, but when it comes to the larger ones, you might have a harder time with the application.

If you have curved nails, you might experience problems such as lifting of one of the edges.

geo-gradient

Hey everyone!
Today I'm going to show you a manicure which combines so many different techniques that I didn't know what to call it, so it became a Geo-Gradient.

It started off as a plain purple/periwinkle base. I felt it was a bit plain, so I decided to do a gradient using black and white, but at the same time I wanted to do sort of a triangle pattern. I made the pattern using self adhesive striping tape and sponged black and white gradient on top. After a few coats, I removed the striping tape and applied a layer of top coat. The final step was adding a few golden triangles as accent.

Used products:
• Kleancolor Signature Lavender (purple)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 02 (white)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 60 (black)

I got the golden metallic triangle decorations from BornPrettyStore as a product for review. They are really thin and tiny and they remind me of aluminum foil which we use for food. They can be bent to the shape of your nail which is always a plus when it comes to nail decorations, especially geometric ones, because no one wants their clothes or hair to get stuck on them. The triangles are very thin which means that you can easily cover them with a coat or two of a clear top coat for a longer wear. The "outline" type decorations like these are a bit more fragile than full ones, but if you're being careful while handling them, you won't have any problems.

Lastly, I'll show you this awesome nail polish that I bought recently. It's called Kleancolor Signature Lavender and it's from one of the latest Kleancolor nail polishes that are scented. It's a periwinkle purple creme, opaque in a single coat. It's a bit thicker in consistency, but surprisingly dries pretty fast. I was a bit skeptical when it comes to the scent, but it actually smells really good. The scent fades after a day or so, but it is pretty intense, especially a few minutes after application :)

sailor moon nails

Hey everyone!
I just can't even describe how excited I am for writing this post. I grew up watching Sailor Moon and I was insanely happy when I found out they were releasing a reboot. So, to honor one of my all time favorite shows I decided to create a Sailor Moon inspired manicure.

In order to create this manicure I made a gradient using a sponge and an electric blue, lavender and teal nail polish. Afterwards, I created a nail decal using stamping plate BP-49 which has tons of different Sailor Moon related images. I applied the decal on my middle finger and on the rest of the fingers I added constellation decals, also from BornPrettyStore.

Used products:
• Essence Electriiiiic!
• Kleancolor Signature Lavender
• Divine Lux 229

Since some of the products were sent to me for review, I'm going to write a few words about them.

First off, I will begin with the stamper that I used to create the decal. It's a rectangular stamper that comes with a metal scraper. It's very soft and squishy meaning you will get all of the needed details from the images. It comes very shiny, so you need to remove some of that shine. I did that by rubbing an eraser on the surface. It's perfect for creating decals. The size will fit most stamping plates, but if you have XL stamping images you might want to consider getting an XL stamper. I did have some trouble in the beginning because my images were warping around it and didn't turn out as they were supposed to, but with some practice it does the job pretty well.
The scraper is pretty good, but personally I prefer using old credit cards as opposed to scrapers like this one, mainly because metal scrapers tend to scratch the surface of the stamping plates and credit cards can scrape a larger surface.

This is what the decal looked like before I removed it from the stamper.

The second item that was sent to me were the constellation decals. I will begin by saying that the sheet of decals is packed with tons of different images, but they follow a similar theme which is zodiac and constellations. All of them are white and they show up really well both on light and dark colors. They are very detailed and even the tiniest are very easy to apply. My only problem was the fact that they are really packed next to each other and you need to be really careful when cutting.

They are very detailed and the base color won't show through.

And, of course, a close up of one of the nails.

empties #16

Hey everyone!
I promise this is the last Empties post that I'll be posting in a while :)

Aqua Effect Mattifying Day Cream by Nivea

Nivea product have always suited my skin and this cream did the same exact thing. I love the fact that it's packaged in a jar rather than a tube because I never seem to get everything out of the tubes. It has a nice refreshing scent that I liked, especially in the lazy winter mornings. I didn't repurchase because I started using another cream in the meantime.

Moisture Match Mattifying Fresh Cream by Garnier

I bought this cream because I wanted a cheaper replacement for my Nivea one. However, it didn't really mattify my skin, even though I have problems on my T-zone. It felt quite heavy and kind of like it didn't really get absorbed well. I won't be repurchasing for sure.

Pomegranate & Mango Scented Spray by Avon

It felt weird that the last Empties post didn't have one of these, but here it is again. I feel like I'm going a bit crazy for them, but I just love them so much. This is actually my second bottle of the same scent that I've used up and I've written in a previous Empties post. It's very fresh and tropical, just perfect for summer.

Dry Shampoo by Balea

This is another product that I've used up yet again. I wanted to give it another chance, but I just can't seem to fall in love with it. It has a really nice smell and refreshes the hair, but I feel like more of the products ends up on my lungs than on my hair. I'm absolutely done with it and I don't plan to buy it again.

Cherry Baby Lips by Maybelline

Ever since we got Baby Lips here in Macedonia, I fell into the craze. I felt like people were overhyping this product, but the balms are really nice. They are pricier compared to other ones available on the market, but they are just perfect for me. I have two others which I haven't used up yet. This one smells really nice and fresh. It is tinted and leaves the slightest dark pink tint on the lips and makes them look really healthy. I would definitely buy it again and again.
